Understanding Teaching Diversity In the Middle School Using Picture Books

Everyone adores children's books and picture books. Most people believe the best loved carry a meaningful message that will stay with your child for his or her entire childhood, like Brighton: One Star's Journey to Shine. It is common knowledge that reading children's books aloud potty help pave the way to your child's future success. Picture books are fun for new readers who are just beginning. Following are a few recommendations to help you select children's books and picture books that are educational as well as enjoyable.children's book

1. Think about the types of books or subjects your child has been drawn to in the past as well as the kinds of characters, situations and topics he or she might relate to or find meaningful. 2. Ask friends, relatives and people you trust what books their youngsters read. 3. Brainstorm books you read as a child and consider whether they are compelling for your child. 4. Ask your librarian to give you a list of books. 5. Look at books awarded Caldecott, Newberry, and Coretta Scott King commendations. 6. Vary your choice and try different genres to hold your child's interest. 7. Make sure that the stories and illustrations present different issues in positive ways..
